The CSIS Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) is pleased to invite you to the first conference of our 2015-16 series, to be held at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM on June 23-24.
The two-day conference will feature panels of presentations from young nuclear experts covering topics such as the nuclear triad and modernization, deterrence in the twenty-first century, arms control and verification, regional nuclear dynamics, and nonproliferation and nuclear security. Additionally, the conference will include a keynote address by Steven Aoki, Deputy Under Secretary for Counterterrorism, Department of Energy; breakfast and lunch both days and an evening reception and dinner at the end of Day One (June 23); and an optional tour on the afternoon of Day Two (June 24). There is no fee to attend any portion of the conference.
Registration and more information on the conference are available online.
The PONI Conference Series, now in its twelfth year, offers an opportunity for rising experts in the field to present findings from their research in order to advance the broader discussion on nuclear weapons issues. It also seeks to provide a venue for interaction among people from different sectors and for mid-career and senior members of the community to mentor their junior counterparts.
Please contact PONI Program Coordinator Sarah Minot with any questions.
